The "job" is to create a shot for a high-end jewelry company using the human form as a backdrop. This is a collaborative event, not a competitive event so all of the participants are encouraged to brainstorm, help-out, and encourage each other. Who should attend? Anyone who is looking for a FUN, EXCITING, CHALLENGING, COLLABORATIVE way to improve their photo skills. Anyone who is interested in experiencing a professional commercial shoot with all of its "fun" parts: - 1. Deadlines
- 2. Art Direction
- 3. Commerical Workflow
- 4. Dynamics of client expectations
- 5. Preparing for printed output (incl. colour management)
What are the benefits of attending? - 1. An incredible, fun, creative experience
- 2. The knowledgebase of doing a commercial shoot.
- 3. Improving your photography
- 4. Camaraderie with fellow photographers.
- 5. You will have a gallery showing at the next Photo Schmooze in January.
Day 1: * Glenn, acting as Art Director, will detail the project, explain the required end results and randomly assign the shooting order. - Each photographer will be assigned jewelry, a model and a time to setup and shoot. Glenn will work with each photographer to coach them on lighting, posing, etc.
- There will be 1/2 hour for setup and preparation and 1/2 hour for shooting.
Day 2: Bring your laptop. - We will be reviewing all the images and selecting the best for further processing.
- Glenn, once again acting as Art Director, will comment and critique the images.
- We will discuss workflow from beginning to end in a non-application specific manner. So it does not matter which workflow software you use.
- We will also discuss image manipulation using Photoshop.
- Question and answer period.
- Time to correct and enhance your selected photos.
Glenn will be there assist you through this process if required. At the end of Day 2, you will be required to submit your two best horizontal images, and your two best vertical images for final comments and critiquing by Glenn. You will have the opportunity to have your images on display at the next Photo Schmooze in January to show off your work. ** We are working on some other fun surprises and will announce these as we get closer to the date. While there will be other photographers there, we have capped the attendance at only 8 so that we can ensure that every participant gets all the coaching they require. If this interests you, REGISTER NOW! We will fill this event and have to turn some of you down. We do not have another workshop like this on the calendar at this point, as we are creating new and exciting workshops for the future, so it may be months (or longer) before we offer this again. DON'T WAIT, REGISTER NOW! If you would like this as a holiday gift, contact Glenn and he can make arrangements with whoever you would like.
